The MotoGP World Championship officially announced his arrival Kazakhstan from next season (2023) with a contract that will bind both parties for the next 5 years (until 2027).
The setting chosen for the occasion in Kazakhstan is the Sokol International Racetrack. “Located outside Kazakhstan’s largest city, Almaty, Sokol is a new motorsports complex built in the heart of Central Asia. The region will become a new pit stop for MotoGP as the sport continues to expand globally, engaging with new markets and fans,” MotoGP said in a statement.
Designed by the famous architect Hermann Tilke, this layout is 4,495 meters long and 15 meters wide.
Kazakhstan will become the 30th country to host a motorcycle Grand Prix since 1949 and the Sokol International Racetrack will become the 74th track to host a Grand Prix for the top class of world motorcycling.
