Porto beat Sporting Braga 4-1 on Friday and relegated them, on equal points, from second place in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Awaiting leaders Benfica who visit Guimaraes this Saturday, the ‘dragons’ have slipped two points clear of the lead, preventing their current rivals from falling asleep in first place.
Braga conceded their first defeat on the eighth day of the Portuguese championship. Evanilson opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and Eustaquio made it 2-0 two minutes later. Already in the second half, former madridista Pepe scored an own goal (55′), but recovered immediately after, making it 3-1 (63′). Galeano already has the result at a discount.

In the second half it was Rochinha’s turn to seal the scoring for Sporting (82′). Although it was an announced victory, Gil Vicente managed to score a goal thanks to the Spaniard Fran Navarro (93′).
