Valencia coach Gennaro Gattuso said after the draw against Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium that the team must “always fight” and not only “in moments of desperation”.
The Italian coach insisted that his team had to be “consistent” that should have insisted the score at 0-1 and not “in the last five minutes”.
In any case, the coach pointed out that Valencia failed in only two games, in defeats against Stuttgart (4-2) and Rayo Vallecano (2-1).
Gattuso commented that among other commitments his students showed “humanity” and “quality”, although he insisted that progress must continue. In this sense, he stressed that in Spain playing as a guest is “very difficult.” “The field factor counts here,” he added.
Regarding the Spanish goal in the 55th minute at the hands of Joselu, Gattuso explained that until then the host had “no chances”. “Then we fell asleep. You can’t go to the supermarket and ask for 20 euros of experience, it’s earned on the pitch. It’s a normal process with young players,” he described.
