The Mutua Madrid Open, Masters 1000 of the ATP circuit, will continue maintaining the name and sponsorship for at least five yearsuntil 2027, after an agreement is reached between the tournament owners and the insurer.
The president of Mutua Madrileña, Ignatius Garraldaand the CEO of Madrid Trophy Promotion, Gerard Tsobanyanhas formalized the new agreement that makes Mutua Madrileña’s relationship with the tournament one of the longest between the worlds of business and sport.
Over the years, the Madrid tournament has proven to be an event that brings a great return to the city and to the promotion of tennis, as it not only promotes the professional sport, but also contributes to the development of the grassroots sport with the organization of the under-16 tournament
The Mutua Madrid Open, according to various studies carried out, generates an economic return of 110 million euros for Madrid through the international projection of the city, the promotion of tourism (30% of the 300,000 on-site who will watch it are foreigners) and the creation of jobs. In turn, the tournament generates 4,000 direct jobs in Madrid, most of them for young people.
