Nibali: “The bike will never go away, it’s part of my life”

Date:

The Italian Vincenzo Nibali (Messina, 37 years old), one of the seven riders in history to win the three big ones, Tour, Vuelta and Giro, said goodbye “excited” to his professional career after Il Lombardía, like the Spanish Alexander Valverde.

“It was exciting from the beginning to the end because of the support of the public. I always felt encouraged, there were many children shouting my name, many posters, I lived in Il Lombardía in a different way. Definitely that I will miss this environment ,” he said of Sicilian Como’s goal “The Shark”.

Nibali, who is hoping for a quick replacement from the young Italian hopefuls, stressed that retiring from professional competition would not take him away from cycling. “The bicycle is my life,” he said.

“Now I will live this sport in a different way. In a few days I will see it in a different way, now I will rest, but the bike will not disappear from my life because it is part of me, of my iral”, ending “Lo squalo”.
