1-1: Palmeiras stumble but hold on to lead

The palm trees tied 1-1 this Monday in his visit to Atlético Goianensein the thirty-first day of the Brazilian league, a result that allows them to remain firmly in first place in the table.

Murilo headed Palmeiras’ goal, from a corner kick early in the second half, and Shaylon equalized for Goianiense, who now have 29 points, a balance that keeps them in the relegation places.

The draw marked the end of a five-game winning streak for the Brazilian Championship leaders, who now need eleven points from seven games to secure the title.

The next day, next Sunday, Palmeiras hosts Sao Paulo in a regional classic of the highest rivalry, while Internacional visits Botafogo.
