Elche center-back Pedro Bigas suffered a traumatic brain injury in Saturday’s match against Valencia (2-2), but he returned with the team on a bus to the town of Elche.
According to the medical report provided by the entity, Bigas did not lose consciousness and is being treated at the Mestalla stadium’s medical facilities, so there is no need for him to be transferred to the hospital.
The footballer, who is “in good general condition”, according to the Elche entity, received trauma after a blow from the Valencia goalkeeper, Giorgi Mamardashvili, hit Bigas in his attempt to clear in an action that was penalized in in favor of Elche and there is a yellow card for the goalkeeper.
Bigas will rest for the next few hours, he will remain under observation and his evolution will mark his availability for the next day’s match, which will be played on Wednesday, against Real Madrid.
