Guardiola, on disallowed goal against Foden: “This is Anfield”

Pep Guardiolamanager of Manchester City, said after the 1-0 defeat against Liverpool that the Anfield fans threw coins at him. This is how the Catalan coach explained his angry reaction to a section of Liverpool supporters when, by VAR, Phil Foden’s goal was disallowed-

Guardiola repeatedly waved at the fans and later explained that coins were thrown at him. “Next time they will do better, because they didn’t catch me. He will try again next year,” the City coach told a news conference. “They got on the bus years ago,” he added, referring to the attack by Liverpool fans on the City bus before a Champions League match in 2018.

Asked if he had prompted a bigger reaction from Liverpool fans, Guardiola replied: “They screamed, we screamed even more.” Pep was furious that Foden’s goal was disallowed. “This is Anfield”. The coach assured the ‘citizen’ that “we made a mistake and lost”.
