2-0: Bellingham seals Dortmund’s place in the round of 16

Date:

Borussia Dortmund is in the round of 16 of the DFB Pokal, the German Cup, after defeating Hannover 0-2 on Wednesday, who are currently playing in the Second Division. Dortmund, who suffered more than expected, advanced thanks to Bright Arrey-Mbi’s own goal (after a play by Youssoufa Moukoko) and sentenced through Jude Bellingham, their new star and substitute start, from a punishment

It was in the 11th minute when Bright Arrey-Mbi’s own goal was scored, putting Borussia Dortmund in the lead. But the minutes ticked by and Edin Terzic’s team could not increase their lead and therefore sealed their place as eighth cup holders.

That’s not all. Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel repeatedly saved his team with his excellent interventions as Hannover forced the search for an upset and realized their dream of continuing in the DFB Pokal.

And finally, in the 81st minute, came the penalty kick, caused by Bellingham himself and also converted by him which is one of the new sensations of Dortmund and the English team. The young midfielder, 19 years old and entered in the 63rd minute to replace Julian Bradnt, did not disappoint and this season he has already scored 6 goals and 2 assists in Terzic’s team.

In the 68th minute, Karim Adeyemi came on, having been sent off in the 85th minute for a foul as the last man.
