Andrea Lee (-12) leads the BMW Ladies Championship after the second day with two shots ahead of Lilia Vu (-10), Korean amateur Minsol Kim (-10) and Atthaya Thitikul (-10). The Thai, World Number 2 and contender for victory in the Race to CME Globe and the title of rookie of the year, was an exception to the unexpected start of the tournament.
The biggest surprise of all was Jin Young Ko’s performance (+15). The World Number One and defending champion is having a difficult return to competition after two months out due to wrist discomfort. He signed 80 hits to start Thursday and by Friday he had 79. He occupied the last prominent position.
Carlota Ciganda (PAR) He’s not having a good day. He made 73 shots and lost a few positions in the classification to be in the lower half of the table. He is having a hard time adjusting to the Korean greens.
