Lidl Ladies NFL Division Two Final Game
Kerry 1-12 Armage 0-12
Daniel O’Leary scored 1-2 off the bench when Kerry won the Liddell National Football League Championship in the second division on Sunday after returning to Armagh at Croke Park.
With a four-point lead and a potential second-tier defeat at the third level in four years, O’Leary scored in the 44th minute and inspired real supremacy.
TG4 2020 MVP Aime McCain finished 0-6 on his own, but Armag failed in a rare visit to Jones Road.
Kerry ran ahead during an early exchange of quick efforts by Niamh ni Chunshir and midfielder Aishling O’Connell, but their opponents in Orchard County inevitably reached a more familiar pace. Thanks to unanswered contributions from Eva Laver, Catherine Marley, Blyton McKinney, and older sister Amy have two points.
Armagh was 0-5 to 0-3 before the aquatic break at the end of the first half after Erica McGlynn and Em McCain exchanged points and after the dynamic of Louise née Muhrcherthai she returned to the real level with two impressive points, followed by Corca Dhuibny. Delivered to Sen Bin in 23 minutes.
While teammate McGlynn took the second half, early scores from Amy McKinney, Marley and Niamh Coleman pushed Armagh into a 0-8 to 0-6 range. It was a full seven minutes before the opening score of the second half arrived, another free routine from influencer Em McKinney.
Shooter Shane O’Neal then scored from the open match in response to a similar effort from substitute Kerry O’Leary, and his sixth in the competition in the 42nd minute increased Armagh’s lead to four points.
However, as Orchard County seems to have all the aces, O’Leary threw the shot perfectly into the bottom left corner of the door to leave at least some space between the two sides.
Oweve McCoy’s impressive solo score helped Armagh get started before the break as Ni Mhuirschearthaig (free) and Kate Lynch regained parity with unanswered scores in the final quarter.
The motivation was all now Kerry, and to add another point to O’Leary, Nee Mhuirshearthay flew from two close distances to honor Team Monster.
