Nani Roma reappears winning the Granada City Rally

Nani Rome won this Saturday the win at VIII Rally City of Granadaa, final test of Spanish Cup of Land Rallies which ended in Madrilenian victory Alexander Villanueva after finishing level on points in the final overall standings with Juan Carlos Quintana, from the Canary Islands, staking a claim.

Nani Roma, winner of the Dakar in motorcycles and cars, prevailed in Granada at the controls of a Volkswagen Polo GTI in the test that helped him reappear after several months off.

The Catalan returned to competition in a big way after recovering from bladder cancer that did not allow him to participate in any official event for the last half year.

Roma won in Granada by taking advantage of the breakdown of Finn Mikko Heikkila, winning six of the rally’s ten special stages but suffering a ten-minute penalty due to mechanical problems with his car.

Canarian Juan Carlos Quintana finished second overall, while Asturian Daniel Alonso completed the podium.

The Spanish Cup for Dirt Rallies, which ended in Granada after six tests, closed with a final tie in the general classification between Quintana and Alexander Villanueva, who finished sixth in the Rally Ciudad de Granada.

The final victory in the Spanish Cup went to Villanueva after winning one of the six contested races, the organizers of the competition moved forward.

However, Quintana filed a claim tonight for the final result in which he claimed first place, they confirmed from the Cup organization.
