Suzuki and Foggia beat Guevara who did not improve

Date:

Japanese Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda) and Italian Dennis Foggia (Honda) beat champion Izan Guevara (GasGas), fastest in FP1, at the end of the second free practice session for the Moto3 Valencian Community Grand Prix at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Chest.

The former Moto3 world champion was the fastest in the morning, but then he was one of 11 riders who did not improve his time and this relegated him to third position in the combined, with his teammate Sergio García Dols, whose world runner-up was played with the Italian, in sixth position.

One of the notes to highlight on this first day of Moto3 is the penalty imposed on Brazilian Diogo Moreira (KTM) of a ‘long lap’ for the last race of the season, for falling to sixth turn when the yellow flag waved for the previous crash of Spaniard David Muñoz. That compromised his fight for rookie of the year, a classification he leads, against Holgado and Muñoz himself.

Once again, the Spaniard David Muñoz (KTM) was unlucky to experience a second crash on the first day of practice, one in the morning and another in the second free practice session, which greatly affected his performance, as it left him a lot of time in the box and in the last twentieth position.

No one could lower Suzuki’s time and the closest was the Italian Dennis Foggia on his last lap, who remained at 21 thousandths of a second, with Izan Guevara and Carlos Tatay behind them.

Moreira, unable to lower his morning time, finished fifth, ahead of Sergio García Dols (GasGas), David Salvador (KTM), Xavier Artigas (CFMoto) and Daniel Holgado (KTM), along with Japanese Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna), tenth and David Muñoz 14th.

Without access to that direct Q2 today are Adrián Fernández (KTM), David Almansa (KTM), Jaume Masiá (KTM), Iván Ortola (KTM) and Ana Carrasco (KTM).
