Less than two weeks to start world, Qatar was once again mired in controversy. This Monday it was learned that a subsidiary of Vinci, a French construction group that operates in the Emirate, was summoned by the courts on Wednesday “with a view to a possible indictment.”
Vinci defended himself and said Monday that he denies the accusations about working conditions at his jobs in Qatar and that he will continue to cooperate with the courts on the matter. “Vinci Group confirms that its subsidiary VINCI Construction Grands Projets was summoned by the investigating judge of Nanterre on November 9 to answer charges related to a complaint from 2015,” Vinci said in a statement.
“Since 2015, VINCI has strongly denied the accusations against it in connection with its projects in Qatar carried out by the company QDVC, in which VINCI Construction Grands Projets has a 49% stake,” it added.
