The FFoundation Rafa Nadal and the Barcelona Tennis Foundation the project was launched ‘PlayAll’, which will serve young people between 6 and 16 years old in a situation of vulnerability from different neighborhoods of Barcelona through tennis.
The project, with the collaboration of Nikewants to accompany young people through regular tennis training and use said sport as a tool for delivering four values such as “sportsmanship, commitment, camaraderie and effort,” according to a statement published Thursday by tennis player’s foundation.
‘Play All’ will benefit this first year 80 minors in vulnerable situations in different areas of Barcelona such as the neighborhoods of El Raval, the Free Zone and El Carmel.
So far, two childcare groups have been opened El Raval and the Free Zonewhile in a few days a new location will open in place of Carmel.
The director of Rafa Nadal Foundation, Maria Francisca Perellóhighlighted that thanks to this project “tennis group training will be offered to minors from neighborhoods with difficult access to this sport, in addition to working with them in various values in a practical way, to contribute positively to their development”.
In its part, jordi cambrapresident of Tennis Foundation Barcelonaexplained that this alliance “is a step forward to make tennis a more democratic and inclusive sport for men, women and youth” Barcelona.
