Tony Finau, new leader of the Houston Open

The American Tony Finau took the lead in the Houston golf tournament on Fridayafter signing a 62-stroke card.

Finau, who started the day level with compatriot Aaron Wise and Swede Alex Noren, finished the Memorial Park round with three consecutive birdies for a total of ten birdiesthat put him at -13 for a total of 127 at the end of his second round.

American Patrick Rodgers follows himwhich is four strokes away.

“It was really good,” Tony Finau said after his impressive run of birdies, including four in a row between the seventh and 10th. In the first round, he also had a series of birdies.

“Thursday I finished -5 on my return and today I kept the pace. I almost made a hole in one of the two holes and then it worked itself out. It was a great round of golf,” he explained.

The second round continues on Saturday, before the third round begins in the afternoon. The first round was cut short due to lack of light.
