The local player was honored Share Fermanage Who was dubbed the “club legend” after his sudden death.
Kieran “Roscoe” McBride died Monday at his home in Irvinestown after a long battle with illness.
His former club, Irvine Town Wanderers, paid tribute to Kiaran after his death and described him as a “great personality for life”.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of club legend Kieran ‘Rosco’ McBride, after a long struggle with illness,” the club said in a statement.
Roscoe was a very talented and aggressive midfield, he was one of the 2001 and 2004 Junior Cup winners, and captain of the 2004 Youth Cup winning team.
His loss through injury and departure from the city left a huge void that the club was struggling to recover.
“The McBride and Goan families have made a huge contribution to the club over the past 25 years.
“An older person with whom he had such a good time will be missed by all who Roscoe knew.
“He was always loyal in everything he did and was a son, brother, cousin, wonderful friend and ultimately faithful husband to his wife Hill and daughter Tess.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Haley, Tess, Eileen, Gary and McBride family, as well as the Maguire and Goan families.”
Irvinestone JAA offers its condolences, as Kieran is a former player.
“It is with great sadness that the club learn of the death of former player Kieran McBride,” the club said in a statement.
“Our condolences go to his wife Hill and daughter Tess, as well as his father and longtime club member Gary, mother Eileen, brothers Martin and Gerard and sisters Eileen and Joan.
The funeral speech on behalf of the Kieran family states that Kieran’s funeral will take place on Thursday, April 14 at 10:15 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Irvinestone.
