Zaroury (Burnley), replacing Harit in Morocco

The Belgian-Moroccan end of the Burnley (Second English) Anass Zaroury was summoned this Wednesday to participate in the selection of Morocco for him Qatar World Cup replaced Olympique de Marseille striker Amine Haritseriously injured on Sunday.

Atlas Lions coach Walid Regragui “called up Anass Zaroury, a player from English club Burnley FC to join the Qatar national team,” the Moroccan Football Federation said in a statement.

Amine Harit, who was on the list of 26 players retained by Regragui, was ruled out of the World Cup with a serious knee injury in Sunday’s Ligue 1 game against Monaco.

Led by stars Hakim Ziyech (Chelsea) and Achraf Hakimi (Paris SG), the players of the Moroccan national team will try to do at least in Qatar as their predecessors did in 1986, when the Morocco became the first African team in history to reach an 8th World Cup final. In Group F, they will face Croatia, Belgium and Canada.
