For the first time since he announced his retirement, the Swiss tennis player Roger Federer returned to All England Club facilities; this time visiting and not to draw his racket in the center court.
The eight-time tournament champion, more than any other person in history, stopped by the London complex on Friday, after several days of travel Japan, where he played an exhibition match and fulfilled some publicity commitments with his clothing brand Uniqlo.
Federer kept his word and did not go 25 years without setting foot at Wimbledon, as he did in his time Bjorn Börg.
“I’m glad to see you again,” Federer published on his social networks, accompanied by a photo of the tournament champion, the last one he lifted in 2017 and from which he remained one point away in 2019 final against Novak Djokovic.

Federer ended his extensive sporting career in September due to knee injuries that have plagued him for the past two and a half years. The Swiss said goodbye to tennis in a tearful letter, to later hang up the racket on Laver Cupwith his friend Rafael Nadal.
