Stadiums register an average occupancy of 94%

Attendance at stadiums on the first day of the World Cup group stage reached an average occupancy of 94% of available seats, as reported by FIFA. In these first 16 games, more than three million seats were sold.

The attendance record for this first day was given to the Brazil-Serbia match, which had 88,103 spectators in the Lusail stand, which has an official capacity for 88,966 fans.
