Juanma Castaño herself has apologized for editing the controversial words from the coach’s appearance on Twitch
If Luis Enrique’s relationship with the press was already tense, it will be even more so from today. Yesterday they published on the Cope network, in Juanma Castaño’s ‘El Partidazo’, an excerpt from the conversation that the coach and psychologist of La Roja had with fans via Twitch.
In the controversial audio, Joaquín Valdés, the national team psychologist, could be heard responding to a request from a follower asking for a message for his wife. The fan in question said his wife María was “close to the World Cup” and “took advantage of the psychologist being there, texting him to see if he calmed down a bit.” And Valdés sent him a message. So far all versions agree.
The problem is that other words from Luis Enrique aired on Cadena Cope. Joking about the psychologist’s tone, the coach stated that the woman was “extremely relaxed and fell asleep” after listening to the message. On the radio, however, a “María must have gotten horny.”
This sentence was uttered minutes later when reading the comments of the followers. One of them had put the crude sentence and Luis Enrique just read it. The manipulation of the audio has spread on social networks and Juanma Castaño, director of the program, had to step forward and apologize: «Last night’s edition of an audio of Luis Enrique in ‘El Partidazo’ put him in a sentence mouth , jokingly, of a viewer in his Twitch channel’s chat. I am most angry, I assure you, and I apologize on behalf of the program. Sorry”.
