3-1. Fenerbahce makes RDT’s comeback difficult

Date:

Rayo Vallecano lost the first game of the Turkish tour after losing to Fenerbahce, in a match they started by winning with a goal from Argentine Oscar Trejo and in the second half the locals came back with three goals, angering the return of Raúl De Tomás, who played for the first time after his return to the club in September.

Andoni Iraola presented a very new eleven compared to the one he usually presents in the League and for this first friendly on Turkish soil he decided to bet on players who have minutes in the domestic championship and the main novelty in attack by Raúl de Tomás , who will not be able to play an official competition until January 1, 2023 upon returning to the Vallecas club in September as soon as the summer market closes.

The Madrid team took the lead after 21 minutes after good individual play by Oscar Trejo, who received a cross from the bottom line on the left side and, after clearing two rivals with separate dribbles, launched a cross shot that hit the bottom of the leggings

Rayo managed to widen their gap soon through Raúl de Tomás, who received a long pass behind the defenders and, in a one-on-one with Altai Bayindir, the Turkish goalkeeper saw his attempt dribble down to the right.

In the second half, Fenerbahce improved with several changes made by Jorge Jesús and the Turkish team changed the score in just twelve minutes, from 71 to 83, with three goals. The first was the work of Osayi-Samuel, a penalty after a foul inside the Moomin area, followed by another by Joshua King and the last by Ferdi Kadioglu.

The bad news for Rayo, apart from the result, is that the two central defenders, Frenchman Florian Lejeune and Ghanaian Abdul Mumin are out injured.

Rayo’s second and final game on the Turkey tour is against Galatasaray on Saturday.
