The Cursa de Sant Andreu plans to gather more than 1,500 participants in its 43rd edition

Date:

The Sant Andreu Swimming Club (CNSA) fix the 43rd edition of the Cursa de Sant Andreua sports event with the collaboration of the Barcelona City Council and is expected to bring together more than 1,500 participants.

The race will be held at Tuesday, December 6, within the framework of the Sant Andreu del Palomar neighborhood celebration. It will consist of a 5-kilometer route for adults, 3 routes adapted for little ones and a route for young people. It is the second oldest popular race in Barcelona,

Every year, more and more runners join this event, where more than 72% are between 17 and 55 years old, almost 18% are over 56 years old and the remaining 10% are under 16 years old. For Angel Bernetpresident of the CNSA, the purpose of this race is “famous runners, friends, neighbors, children, young people and adults enjoy doing sports in the Sant Andreu neighborhood, causing an impact at a social and community level that exceeds sports”.

In recent years, this race has become more popular, reaching more than 1,500 runners. In the same way, it has a large participation of women, who historically managed to represent about 29% of the participants.

In the 2019 edition, 511 women and 989 men attended, and in the 2021 edition, 360 women and 769 men registered.
