Roy Keane, former captain of Manchester United, criticized the players of the Brazilian team for their dances against South Korea, he said they were “disrespectful” to the rival and compared the ‘canarinha’ matches to watching a “dance reality show”.
Keane, commentating on World Cup matches on British television ITV, was upset by the attitude of the Brazilians, who celebrated every goal by dancing.
“It was a fantastic finish from Vinícius,” Roy Keane told ITV after the Real Madrid player’s first goal. “It was a good start to the match, pbut I have never seen so many dances”, commented the former midfielder.
“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I do not believe. It’s like watching “Strictly (a dance reality show in the UK). I don’t like this at all. People say it’s their culture, but I think it’s disrespecting the rival,” added Keane.
“There are four goals and they do it every time. The first time, okay, but then they dance up to the coach. I don’t like it,” he insisted.
Tite, in a press conference, said he made a promise to Richarlison that if he scored a goal he would celebrate with him by dancing. “I don’t think we were disrespectful to Korea or their coach,” the Brazil coach said.
