New positive in the world of tennis. If a few days ago the sanction was confirmed to Fernando Verdasco after forgetting to renew the TUE (Therapeutic Use Exemption) for the medication he was taking for the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder he was diagnosed with, now Kamil Majchrzak.

The Polish tennis player has confirmed that he tested positive for an unknown banned substance during the anti-doping controls carried out in the final weeks of the competition season.

Majchrzak, who is in Poland’s squad for the United Cup that starts on December 29 in Australia, is temporarily suspended pending a hearing.

The world number 77 has defended his innocence, saying he did not dope on purpose.

“I have incredibly sad and difficult news to share with everyone. I tested positive for doping tests in October and November 2022. First of all, I have never, ever knowingly taken any illegal substance. Right now I have no idea what happened and this is the biggest shock. I have started the hardest fight of my life: the fight to prove my innocence and return to the sport I love” he wrote on his twitter account.
