Ferrol failed to beat Deportivo, winning 2-0 in Sunday’s game at Municipal Riazor. Deportivo came into the match with the goal of surpassing their score in the standings after suffering a 1-0 defeat in the previous match against Badajoz. For their part, Racing Ferrol beat Linares Deportivo at their stadium 2-0 and previously they did the same at home, against Pontevedra 0-2. After the score, the A Coruña team was fifth, while Ferrol was fourth at the end of the match.
The match started positively for the local team, who took advantage of the game to open the scoring with a goal from Villares in the 25th minute. The eleven from A Coruña scored again, increasing the score thanks to a goal from Max Svensson in the 30th minute, ending the first period with a 2-0 result.
Neither team scored in the second half so the game ended with a score of 2-0.
The coaches made all possible changes. With 29 points, Óscar Cano’s Deportivo was in fifth place in the overall table at the end of the match, with a playoff spot for promotion to the Second Division, while the team led by Cristóbal Parralo was in fourth place with 30 points , also included in a playoff spot for promotion to the Second Division.
The next day, Deportivo will play against Ceuta away from home and Racing Ferrol will play their match against Alcorcón on their territory.
