The attack took place during the Trintxerpe-Behobia match, where, apparently, there was a fight between the players, where the alleged attacker burst into the field of play and hit the assistant referee.

The president of the Gipuzkoan Football Federation Manu Diaz He condemned, in statements in “Noticias de Gipuzkoa”, the attack and assured that the case will be transferred to the Competition Committee so that it can investigate a file.

“We are talking about an assault on a minor. So, if there is criminal responsibility, we will go the appropriate route,” he announced.

The president of La Guipuzcoana explained that this was the second game involving the young referee, whom he spoke to on Monday and found him “calm” but “surprised by what happened.”

The head of the federation confirmed that this same weekend similar incidents were registered in Bizkaia and Álava.

The mayor of Pasaia, Izaskun Gómez, “roundly” condemned the attack on the maid. “There is no right to attitudes that attack the values ​​of sport and set the worst possible example for our youth,” the councilor said in a message posted on social networks.
