Olympic champion Randolph Ross, banned for three years for doping

Ross, 21, was provisionally suspended in July, a day before the 400-meter dash of the final Eugene World Cups (United States).

The American athlete admitted that he “altered a system-generated email (confirming an apparent update to his whereabouts information for the relevant period) to try to prevent a third failure in a 12-month period,” according to his statement. Athletics Integrity Unit report.

That potential violation occurred on June 18, 2022, so the ban will apply retroactively from July 1 of this year to June 30, 2025, which is the time of the Paris Olympics. In addition, all his results in competitions since June 18 will be nullified.

Randolph Ross is the second American athlete to be suspended in recent weeks, after the decathlete Garrett Scantlingwho was penalized for skipping three anti-doping controls within twelve calendar months.
