The first words, between tears, of De Paul, after winning the World Cup

Date:

The Argentinian midfielder Rodrigo de Paul declared this Sunday, after winning the final of Qatar World Cup 2022it was that misery that marked the Albiceleste to prevail in this tournament.

“We have suffered a lot, but how good it feels. We were born to suffer, this is what makes us suffer. We will suffer all our lives,” the Atlético de Madrid player said in statements on Argentine Public Television.

De Paul said the Argentines were “just winners”, because, to win the title, “you have to beat the last champion” and that was the case in Sunday’s match against France.

The rojiblanco footballer, with tears in his eyes, said he could not “explain” the “joy” he was experiencing and expressed his “love” for “all Argentines”.

“We always carry the flag everywhere; I hope they are as happy as we are,” he said.

Argentina won his third world title after losing France at the end of Qatar World Cup 2022after drawing 3-3 in regulation time and 4-2 in the penalty shootout.
