Among the 17 sporting events of the 2023 sports course, apart from the Spanish F1 Grand Prix (from June 2 to June) and the MotoGP Monster Energy Grand Prix of Catalonia (September 1 to 3), two other combined events stand out. in the World Cups: the Catalunya WorldSBK Round, of ‘superbike’, between May 5 and 7; and, as a great new, the FIA ETCR-eTouring Car World Cup: on October 7 and 8.

The FIA ​​​​ETCR is two years old and with drivers like Mattias Ekström, the world touring car champion, Mikel Azcona, Jordi Gené, or the current champion, Adrien Tambay, it will set foot on Catalan soil for the first time for the third time. edition.

As always, races with the Circuit’s own stamp will also be present in the month of July including 24 Hours of Catalonia Motorcycling (June 30-July 2) and the 24 Hour BiCircuit (cycling, on July 8 and 9); as well as the 24 Hours of Barcelona Motor Racing-Fermí Vélez Trophy (September 15-17).

The European Le Mans Series They will continue to be held at the Montmeló circuit and will open the season from April 21 to 23, not only with the first race of the year but also with official training. The FIM Junior GP It will be held on July 15 and 16.

On May 20 and 21, 2023, a “very special” event will take place, the Spirit of Montjuïcwhich will bring together different championships in the same weekend, as well as Barcelona Speed​​​​Festival-María de Villota Legacy (September 29-October 1), where the GT World Challenge.

The International GT Open the season will close again in the Catalan territory on October 21 and 22. And among the national competitions, the racing weekend (November 11 and 12), the WG-CER (December 1 and 2) or the Catalan motorcycling championships (June 17 and 18) and motoring (December 1 and 2), among others.

This 2022, the Circuit closing the season with 89% occupancy, with a total of 325 days of activity. The total number can be divided into 232 days of rental and 93 days of competition, as reported in the event that took place in Madrid, where both Oriol Sagrega and José Luis Santamaría explained that in the year ending they invested 31 days to carry out the tasks and maintenance tasks; and there are only 9 days without any kind of activity.

This year’s 89% occupancy rate –with 325 days of activity– betters the records of recent seasons, and remains the highest number in the past six years, even surpassing the occupancy rate prior to pandemic. The Spanish Formula One Grand Prix was attended by a total of 277,836 spectators, while 111,574 witnessed ‘in situ’ the previous World Championship races held in Montmeló.
