PSV tracked back to Ajax in two minutes to win the Cup (2-1)

Date:

PSV went to great lengths to win their tenth Cup title. The Eindhoven team bounced back from their elimination from the Conference League by coming back just two minutes into the final against Ajax.

Roger Schmidt’s team was able to restore the score with two almost consecutive punches from Erick Gutiérrez and Cody Gakpo and tracked down Ajax’s goal, Gravenberch’s work.

The first half was dominated by the Amsterdam side, who took the lead with a shot from Gravenberch’s side (23 ‘). Before half-time, VAR intervened to nullify Mazroui’s 0-2 draw, as Tadic had already received from an offside position.

After the intermission, PSV reacted, returning with a header from Guitérrez and a shot from Gakpo after an ‘ajacied’ loss of the ball.

Fortune did not smile at Ajax. Tadic hit the post, VAR disallowed another goal, this time from Klaassen, and then Schuurs missed a shot from close range, which the equalizer denied him.
