Spain starts the year with two guaranteed places for the Paris Games

Spanish sport begins the year 2023 with two guaranteed places for the 2024 Olympic Games in Parisin rhythmic gymnastics and shooting.

These quotas correspond to the gymnastics group, which was a bronze medalist at the last world championships, and to the women’s pit modality in shooting.after Fátima Gálvez’s silver also at the recent world championships.

Gálvez is the Olympic champion at Tokyo 2020 in the mixed pit with Alberto Fernández.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has published the 120 Olympic places that have been awarded in eleven of the sports of the Olympic program, of which the shot certainly had the most tickets distributed, 76.

Thirteen other sports are in the process of qualifying, although they haven’t locked down any spots yet.

Nineteen places were allocated in horse riding for multiple teams: six in dressage, six in jumping and seven in eventing. Great Britain, Germany, Sweden and, as the host country, France, are eligible for all three specialties.

In gymnastics, there are twelve assigned tickets, three in the men’s artistic teamsthree in female, three in rhythmic ensembles and three in individual rhythmic.

Five places have been decided in soccer: Brazil, Colombia and the United States in the women’s tournament and the Dominican Republic and the United States in the men’s tournament, although the two French teams are also guaranteed their presence.

Four places in triathlon (Great Britain and France in both sexes), two in surf (USA in women, Japan in men), one in basketball (the United States women’s team) and one in handball (Norway’s women), in addition to France as the home of these last two sports, complete the list of places awarded.

Apart from sports whose classification is permanently decided by rank, The next championship where the direct place will be distributed is the Men’s Handball World Cupstarting 12th in Poland and Sweden, with a ticket to Paris for the champion.
