The Spanish tennis player Rebeka Masarova qualified this Thursday for the quarterfinals of the Auckland tournament (New Zealand) by beating Russian Anna Blinkova 6-1, 6-4, her best result on the professional circuit.
The player born in Basel (Switzerland), 130 in the WTA ranking, confirmed his good moment -lost Sloan Stephens- by defeating number 73 in two sleeves.
Masarova scored ten direct kickssuperior to his rival in all aspects of the game.
He lost his serve once, but broke the Russian four times, which he had never faced before.
The Spaniard’s next opponent is the Czech Karolina Muchovawho in her round of 16 match easily prevailed over German Elena Gabriela Ruse 6-4 and 6-1.
Masarova came from the previous stage of the tournament.
The first seed, the American Coco Gauff, defeated her compatriot Sofia Kenin 6-4 and 6-4 and it will be in the rooms too.
