Due to the heavy rain that fell in Al Duwadimi, where the Dakar caravan was scheduled to go this Friday, the Dakar organization had to act and change the planned plans. The 6th stage from Ha’il to Al Duwadimi will still take place, but with a reduction of about 100 kilometers from its planned route and a subsequent link of about 300 km to Riyadh. For the 7th day, a loop is scheduled to start and finish in Al Duwadimi, but since the competitors and the bivouac are in Riyadh, they will take the route scheduled for stage 8 but they will do it in January 7 (with previous link from Riyadh to Al Duwadimi). Therefore, it is understood that once in Ad Dawadimi, the loop planned for stage 7 is carried out, as stage 8.

DAKAR OFFICIAL STATEMENT:
Since the rains of the last days flooded the area planned for the installation of the Al Duwadimi bivouac, it was not possible to receive the Dakar caravan in the first planned area. The sporting programs for stages 6 and 7 have been modified accordingly by the Dakar organizers.
. On January 6, stage 6 of the first scheduled special will be held, but with a distance reduced by about 100 kilometers. The pilots and crew will take a connecting route (about 300 kilometers) to the bivouac in Riyadh.
. The following day, January 7, competitors will take to the stage on the route of the special first scheduled for stage 8 (Al Duwadimi > Riyadh). At the end of this special, if the weather conditions are favorable, the caravan will move to Al Duwadimi bivouac.
. Arrangements will be made for January 8th depending on how the weather changes.
