Santolino: “30 minutes seems long, but it can be recovered”

Date:

Lawrence Santolino (Sherco) is optimistic about the final stage of Dakar and he said that his absence, more than half an hour, would be recovered even if it seemed, and it was, much.

“The evaluation is positive, I am 12th overall, 30 minutes behind the first. It seems like a lot and it is, but it can be offset if there is a stage with navigation problems and losseswe are not far away and the rhythm is regular and consistent and this is the key to face this second week”, he analyzed.

Santolino stated that the first week of the raid was demanding, something that the organization had warned them about, although they did not take it too seriously.

“It’s been a tough week. They told us and we didn’t believe it because the other time they warned him and it wasn’t so difficult, but this time, with a particularly technical route, lots of rocks, camel grass, fast places that make you tense, physical days… and I liked it”, he admitted.

The man from Salamanca said that it was “a whole week”, during which, moreover, he did not suffer any contractions. “The team worked hard. We arrived well, in good condition. One day I was exhausted and the good thing was that I recovered well. I’m glad that we didn’t have any technical problems, that at the level of the fall I saved the week without any”, he specified.
