The defender of Elche, José Ángel Carmona, confirmed this Thursday, during his official presentation, that the Elche team has not been relegated and indicated that it seeks to help achieve permanence in its centenary year.
The player, who is on loan at Sevilla until the end of the season with an option to buy for the Elche club, said he accepted the proposal “because of the interest” shown by Elche in his signing.
“I want to take part in this project and be part of Elche’s survival,” said the Sevillian, who revealed that all the references he had from the team and coaching staff were positive.
Carmona described himself as a “versatile” player who can operate in the right-back and center-back positions and said that he is characterized by having “character, grit and always doing the best the shield represents I.”
The Sevillian, who held his first training session with the team, assured that he found the group “motivated and eager because he thinks this is what will make him perform”.
“For one thing or another, the results have not been given. The team believes it, they are motivated and eager”, added the Sevillian.
“Nothing is impossible as long as it is not mathematical. As long as there is 1% chance there is 99% hope. You have to try to give the club survival in its centenary year”, argued the player about Elche’s options for permanence.
José Ángel Carmona has acknowledged that one of his goals for the season is to play some minutes with Elche to participate in the next European Under 21 Championship and said he could make his debut this Monday in Cádiz if the coach deems it suitable .
