New early start to see Nadal at Australian Open

Date:

Two fingers. Rafa Nadal will repeat the schedule in his second match in this edition of the Australian Open.

The Spaniard will face the American Mackenzie McDonald in the early morning from Tuesday to Wednesday (not before 04)after two women’s matches, Iga Swiatek’s and Jessica Pegula’s.

After complications due to a double abdominal tear, at Wimbledon and at the US Open, with almost no matches or wins, the picture is difficult for the tennis player with 22 Grand Slam crowns, who suffered to defeat Jack Draper in his debut.

McDonald is looking forward to his duel against the champion of 22 Grand Slams. The ‘yankee’ defeated Brandon Nakashima in the first round of this Australian Open, one of the young promises of the circuit and he defeated in a real ‘thriller’ by 7-6(5), 7-6(1), 1-6, 6-7(10) and 6-4, in a match with a lot of physical and mental exhaustion. Therefore, McDonald came with a morale boost after defeating the defending champion at the NextGen ATP Finals.

The American occupies the 65th place in the ATP rankings and will face Rafa Nadal for the second time in his career. The previous clash between the two took place in the second round of Roland Garros 2020when Nadal won resoundingly 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3.

So, the game will start after 04 am. Eurosport will televise it and you can also follow it live on the Mundo Deportivo website.
