Sergio Rapisarda, president of Vélez, spoke about the negotiations he is holding with Manchester City, who want to be with the services of young midfielder Máximo Perrone, although, always according to the head of the Argentine club, so far there is no agreement. But Rapisarde admitted that the 20-year-old Perrone wants to leave. In fact, it was hinted at the beginning of January that the midfielder’s move to City was taken for granted.
“They offered us, but he did not convince us. We are talking about a great player, (Pep) Guardiola has called him three times, but it’s not enough”, Rapisarda said about Perrone’s possible move to City.
The release clause for Perrone, 20, rises to 8 million euros. The medium was developed in the lower category by Vélez and is currently an Under-20 international for Argentina. The former Barcelona player Javier Mascherano, U-20 albiceleste coach, included Perrone on the list for the South American category, which will take place from January 19 to February 12 in Colombia.
