Youssoufa Moukoko decided to reject the offers that he had a lot of good and renewed for Borussia Dortmund, making it official this Saturday. Moukoko has extended his contract until June 2026, ruling out the possibility of leaving the German club for free at the end of the season. This is one of Barcelona’s future options.

As revealed by German channel Sport 1, Moukoko’s agents have tried to include him in a new contract with Borussia Dortmund an exit clause at Barcelona for the following seasonssomething that the leaders of the said German club rejected.
Borussia Dortmund gave Moukoko an ultimatum earlier this week: before the team resumes the Bundesliga (this Sunday against Augsburg) the young striker has to decide whether to renew or become a free agent this coming summer. Moukoko, 18, is one of the elite’s most sought-after players and his contract expires at the end of the season. Newcastle have tried to sign the striker and Barcelona want it.
Sebastian Kehl, Borussia Dortmund’s sports director, revealed on Sunday that his club had made the attacker “an attractive offer”. Kehl expressed his desire for the attacker to stay: “He hasn’t completed his development yet and I see huge potential in him. But as a club we have (financial) limitations.”
Moukoko became the youngest player to represent Germany in a World Cup (on November 23, 2022, against Japan in the first stage of Qatar 2022, aged 18 years and 3 days) and is Borussia Dortmund’s top scorer in this Bundesliga, with 6 goals in 14 games.
Born in Cameroon, Moukoko grew up in Germany and broke many goalscoring records in the German youth ranks. He debuted as a professional at age 16 (the rules changed, the minimum age requirement was 17). He became the youngest to debut in the Bundesliga: He did it on November 21, 2020, one day after turning 16, against Hertha, and less than 3 weeks later he became the youngest to debut in the Champions League (in the entire history of the competition), on December 8 against Zenith.
