A few hours before Juventus’ Serie A game against Atalanta tonight, the ultras of the Turin club released a statement in which they expressed their protest against the board after the harsh 15-point penalty upheld by the Italian Appeals Commission . Football Federation for changing the value of players in certain transfers and generating capital gains.
On a joint note, three of Juventus’ organized fan groups are launching scathing accusations against former president Agnelli and other managers who have also left the club.
“Arrogant Management”
The ultras criticized an “arrogant and hypocritical” management that “has the sole purpose of reducing the sporting history of a legendary club to a mere economic operation, to a product to be placed on international markets like of any brand of drink or clothing.”
A “commodification” whose first step was the new stadium, conceived as “a place for occasional clients, ready to spend the unthinkable.” In this line, the organized fans continue, “the Curve, the beating heart, must be swept away in all things, as the judicial proceedings show.”
The references are the investigations of recent years: the 2006 on ultra leaders (closed with an “acquittal”) and the trials of Alto Piemonte and Huling Banner (pending appeal). “Where were they -continuing the note- when they prevented us from staying in our place? Where were they when they were warned about the danger of leaving information in the hands of others, allowing them to occupy all positions of sports and media responsibility? Where were they when they asked us not to wave the big flags because they blocked the view? Where were they when they charged 600 euros for a season ticket? To defend this arrogant and hypocritical management, led by nine consecutive championships (Series A) as if protecting them from any criticism”.
