UEFA awards the Champions League rights to France

Date:

UEFA continues the process of selling the broadcasting rights to Champions League like other club competitions belonging to the highest body of European football: Europa League, Conference League and European Super Cup for the next three seasons: 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27.

UEFA conducts this tender on a market-by-market basis, offering these broadcasting rights on a platform-neutral basis and in accordance with the principles established by the European Commission.

The sales process is carried out initially through a process of “Invitation to submit offers” where qualified audiovisual content distributors are invited to submit bids before the submission deadline.

The sales process is managed on behalf of UEFA by TEAM Marketing, UEFA’s marketing agency for the exploitation of certain media and commercial rights related to its club competitions. Except in the United States, where the sales process is handled on behalf of UEFA by Relevent Sports Group.

A few days ago, we announced that British Telecommunications had the right to compete in the United Kingdom. But it also awarded the rights to another major league in Europe, such as France, with Canal Plus managing it, as well as the rights to the Europa League and Conference League.

UEFA also announced the award in three competitions in the Netherlands and Cyprus. In the first case, the Liberty group has the right, while Cyprus Telecomunicaciones is the winner in the Cypriot nation.

In addition, Blue Entertainment is the awardee in Switzerland of the audiovisual rights of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.

In Spain, TVE bought the rights to the final from 2022 and until 2024. But it remains to be known who will have the closed rights from the aforementioned season. Movistar has the rights for the current and next season.
