Mora: “I didn’t get one hundred percent, but you can always dream of the podium”

The Villarreal cyclist Sebastian Mora declared that, though did not reach one hundred percent in the European Championship track cycling, where he will compete in the omnium and the madison with Albert Torres, “You can always and should always dream of a podium”.

“It was very early and I was still out of shape. But you have to dream. Albert and I were focused and we trained together last week, but from there until it fully arrived… I repeat that this European Championship will be held as soon as possible. however, We know each other perfectly and know how to hold our own on the track. I am convinced that we will be among the best in Madison”, he said in remarks at the FER Project.

Mora, who will turn 35 in a few days, has amassed six gold medals in continental competitions and last year won bronze just two months after undergoing surgery. “Experience is a plus. Above all to anticipate events, see competitive opportunities, assess things, make decisions…”, he said.

“Being one of the banners of cycling on the national track requires some pressure and responsibility, but, above all, it indicates motivation. I know that there are people looking for us, which, I repeat, is a source of pride and encouragement when it comes to training and self-demand”, he stated.

The FER athlete also expressed that he feels motivated and eager to face the Olympic process until Paris 2024. “But desire and motivation do not guarantee a European passport. Then, you have to perform on the track. And it becomes more difficult because there is more rivalry and competition. Also, the process is very time consuming.
