With the Mazarrón goalkeeper tied until 2026, the club hopes to sign similar deals soon with Luçao, Motta and Javivi
Chemi blows out the candles of its 27th anniversary with the extension until 2026. Jimbee Cartagena secures the present and future of the goal with the Mazarron player, “very satisfied” and “with a lot of room for improvement”, he said in his Monday first statements, at the headquarters of sponsor AAZ. The goalkeeper joined the club in the summer of 2020 and has since grown by leaps and bounds, until he became an all-time international for Spain.
“I’m happy to say I’m going to continue until 2026. I’m home, it’s a very well-known club and it’s grown me enormously as a sport and as a person. We continue together. We have to take that step in the qualifiers, reach a semi-final, a final… Mistakes are expensive and the word is to fight,” said Chemi, the undisputed starter in the Jimbee goal.
The man from Mazarrón will not be present this Wednesday at the important event (Jorge Garbajosa Pavilion, 8.30 pm) against Inter Movistar. At stake is the pass to the ‘final four’ of the Copa del Rey, something Cartagena’s futsal has never achieved. The goalkeeper saw red last Saturday and his sanction for the cup should be confirmed on Tuesday, except for surprise.
Revamped Chemi, the next challenge for Jimbee Cartagena is to also tie up Luçao, Javivi and Motta. The three will end their contracts in June, but are linked until 2024, as LA VERDAD announced. The purpose of the directive is to extend this link for several years, with an offer that the three players have on the table. «We are talking to them, they feel identified with the project and we are sure that we will renew all three of them: they want it and so do we. We will reach a safe rendezvous point,” President Miguel Ángel Jiménez Bosque said.
The melon club received good news again on Monday: the call-up of Mellado, Javivi and Pablo Ramírez with the absolute national team. The trio will play the qualifying matches for the 2024 World Cup against Cyprus and Moldova. Finally, Chemi is not on that list, who has recently been penalized for some mistakes in the Spanish Cup and the direct red against Inter.
