The future of F1? Here comes the Airspeeder MK4, the first pilot flying supercar

Date:

Alauda Aeronautics today unveiled the Airspeeder Mk4, the first manned version of its flying racing car. Designed and built in Adelaide, the Airspeeder Mk4 is the fastest hydrogen-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in the world.

Capable of reaching a top speed of 360 km/h in just 30 seconds from standstill, it is designed to set the standard for performance and technology in the radical new sport of piloted hovercraft racing. It now opens the door for OEM teams to join Airspeeder in a motorsports revolution as it introduces the world’s first and fastest powered flying race car for performance sports.

With a sophisticated electric propulsion system, advanced aerodynamics and a takeoff weight of just 950kg, the Airspeeder Mk4 is also very efficient, with an estimated range of 300km while producing almost zero emissions.

The Airspeeder Mk4 is powered by a 1,000 kW (1,340 horsepower) turbogenerator that powers the batteries and engine. Specifically designed for use in eVTOL, this revolutionary technology allows green hydrogen to be used as fuel, providing safe, reliable and sustainable power over long distances and flight times.

This technology has the potential to significantly reduce emissions and create a sustainable future for individual air travel. And who knows, maybe a vehicle like this will be the future single-seater of motor competitions.
