The Danish Jonas Vingegaard showed his ambition because of his last victory in O Gran Camiño, after showing off the second stage of the test taking place in Galicia, with victory and leadership at the top of Monte Trega.
“I’m very happy with the win, I hope I can keep the jersey on the stage tomorrow. It’s going to be tough, we’ll see how I feel”, commented the winner of the last Tour de France to journalists after climbing the podium.
Vingegaard, who won on his debut in 2023, described as “amazing” what his teammates did throughout the stage to break the break before he showed off his “good” legs in the final port.
“I love to wear the yellow jersey, I have so much fun. My first victory in Spain was special for me. It’s the start of the season and I want to show that I’m fine. Yesterday was very difficult because of the cold, but today I feel better. I hope I can keep the yellow jersey”, he insisted.
