After a good opening day, when they delivered a 59 stroke card, thirteen under par, they finished the second day with 68 strokes (-4), to stay ahead of the English-formed couple Aaron Rai and the American David Lipsky, and the Americans Doc Redman and Sam Ryderboth at 16 under par.
Augusta Masters champions Scottie Scheffler and Ryan Palmer earned a 72 (par) scorecard and made the cut to 8 under overall.
By Sergio Garciawho shared a team with Englishman Tommy Fleetwood, by Rafa Cabrera with Argentine Emiliano Grillo made it by cut.
The Zurich Classic in New Orleans (USA), the only tournament played in pairs on the PGA Tour, will run until next Sunday.
