Created in 2011 in Mexico by the Pachuca group, current owner of Real Oviedo, The headquarters of the Hall of Fame is a giant ball located in the city of Mexico, which has become a pole of attraction for tourists who visit this institution, approved by FIFA.
More than a hundred invited journalists will be in charge of the selection of the new members of the Hall of Fame from which fifty candidates will choose in different categories, which include seven new additions to the international section, six to the nationals, two to the dean national and one each for international dean, international woman and national woman.
The International section has the widest list of applicants with fifteen members, made up of Spanish Carles Puyol and Xavi Hernández; the argentinians Diego Simeone, Marcelo Bielsa and Diego Milito; the Italians Carlo Ancelotti and Francisco Totti; English David Beckham; Brazilians Rivaldo and Kaka; the Chilean Ivan Zamorano; the Colombian René Higuita; the cameroonian Samuel Eto’o; the Paraguayan Jose Luis Chilavert and the American L.There’s Donovan.
Currently, the Football Fame Museum consists of 44 members, including personalities Pelé, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Maradona and Di Stéfano as well as four new members included in the last edition in 2020: the Brazilians Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos, the Italian Fabio Cannavaro and the Spanish Raul Gonzalez.
