In recent months, there have been many rumors about the possibility of changing the layout of Spanish GP and this Monday the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya has made it official that the chicane of the third sector is gone. Therefore, the Formula 1 its original version will be used again after a decade with a double curve.

});
The FIA approved the two versions offered by the Circuit: with chicane and without chicane. From here, the promoters of the Montmeló track left the decision in the hands of F1 and added a few TECPRO constraints to increase security. The Grand Prix will be held from June 2 to 4 and, like last year, tickets are sold out.
The application of the chicane was intended to favor overtaking but the new regulations and single-seater specifications made it more complicated. Strict compliance made it impossible for the pilots and even the straight of more than a kilometer was not enough to catch up. By reclaiming the fast corners, the goal is for the cars to come out closer.
In respect to MotoGPAfter the chicane layout was also applied for a few years after Luis Salom’s fatal accident, it became the original circuit a few seasons ago. The hole is widened and gravel is added to reduce all kinds of hazards.
