EA Sports is strengthening its commitment to women’s soccer through the NWSL

EA Sports today announced new partnerships with National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the premier professional women’s league in the United States, and the National Women’s Soccer League Players Association (NWSLPA). These partnerships are an important part of EA SPORTS’ ongoing commitment to elevate and truly represent women’s soccer.

“The inclusion of the NWSL in EA SPORTS FIFA 23 is a huge milestone for the US league, its players and the millions of soccer fans around the world as we continue to push the boundaries of women’s soccer,” said Jessica Berman, Commissioner, NWSL .

“The athletes who play in the NWSL are some of the best in the world and we are delighted to have the opportunity to continue to showcase their talents through a unique gaming experience. We can’t wait for the fans to start playing and we look forward to continuing this celebration of the players and this league when we begin our 11th season on March 25.”

Starting March 15 on all platforms, the 12 NWSL teams will be present in Kick Off, Tournament Mode, Head to Head Season / Co-op Seasons and Online Friendlies. Four NWSL stadiums are also available in EA SPORTS™ FIFA 23, along with authentic kits, starheads, trophies and celebrations.

Additionally, EA SPORTS and the NWSLPA will focus on the development of players both on and off the field. The 2023 season of NWSL is set to begin on Saturday, March 25, with the opening weekend for the league’s 11th campaign seeing all 12 teams in action. Both the regular season and the 2023 UKG NWSL Challenge Cup will air on CBS Sports platforms, including The CBS Television Network, CBS Sports Network and Paramount+.

The National Women’s Soccer League is the premier women’s professional soccer league in the world, featuring national team players from around the world. The clubs are Angel City FC, Chicago Red Stars, Houston Dash, Kansas City Current, NJ/NY Gotham FC, North Carolina Courage, OL Reign, Orlando Pride, Portland Thorns FC, Racing Louisville FC, San Diego Wave FC, and Washington Spirit.

The NWSLPA is the union that represents all players in the NWSL. As a proud affiliate of the AFL-CIO, the NWSLPA is the voice and advocate for players. The NWSLPA ratified the first Bargaining Agreement in the history of US women’s professional soccer in January 2022.
