Women’s World Cup ’23 poster presented

Date:

The poster of Women’s World Cup 2023 to be played in Australia and New Zealand, presented this Tuesday in Adelaide and Wellington, symbolizes the motto of the tournament to be played between July 20 and August 20: ‘Greatness without limits’.

FIFA wanted to coincide this presentation, as well as that of nine specific posters of the venues of the biggest women’s football competition, on the eve of the celebration of International Women’s Day.

The main element of the poster is three silhouettes of women that “symbolize the creation of positive change in women’s sport.” In the center stands the champions’ trophy which “directs attention towards sporting excellence achieved in the constant effort to improve the discipline”.

Also, the ball that serves as the background of the photo represents “the union of the organizing countries and the whole world” and the silhouettes of the players, which appear in the foreground, “reflect the athletic qualities, techniques and passion shown within the field of play, as well as the joy of celebrations”.

The posters for the nine host cities were created in collaboration with the venues themselves to form “a homogenous collection, showcasing the emblematic and historic sites, flora and fauna, and the vibrant culture unique to each .”

x.setAttribute(“charset”, “utf-8”);

});

“With just 135 days until the start of the tournament, we come to another milestone moment to celebrate. These posters showcase the unique identities of our nine venues in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, and also celebrate the unity – the theme of the tournament – around football,” said Fatma Samoura, FIFA Secretary General.

The works are on display at Adelaide Festival Square until Wednesday 22 March and at Wellington’s Kumutoto waterfront until Tuesday 21 March, both of which will be the setting for fan zones.
